Dhaka Bypass Expressway

Bangladesh's first fully access-controlled expressway, creating a strategic corridor around eastern Dhaka

Project Overview

Project Overview

About the Project

The Dhaka Bypass Expressway is a transformative 48.07-kilometer highway that provides a strategic corridor around eastern Dhaka, connecting major national highways N1 (Dhaka-Chattogram), N2 (Dhaka-Sylhet), N3 (Dhaka-Mymensingh), and N4 (Dhaka-Tangail/Northwest).

Developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, this project represents a significant milestone in Bangladesh's infrastructure development. The project follows a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Maintain, and Transfer (DBFOMT) arrangement with a 25-year concession period.

When completed, the expressway will reduce travel time between Joydebpur and Madanpur from over 2 hours to approximately 40 minutes, significantly improving connectivity and economic prospects for the region.
